In January 2025 I was commissioned to make a piece celebrating music in Leeds, in particular the Leeds Conservatoire, it ran October 2025 - June 2026, exhibited at the Leeds City Museum. I chose to paint Nel Begley, a successful female jazz singer and part of the Leeds Conservatoire alumni. I used bright colours and clippings from the Conservatoire archive, which was part of the brief.
